Send the file, get the part
We open STEP, STP, STL, 3MF, OBJ and SLDPRT. Send STEP if you have it, with the quantity, the material or what it must survive, and the date. A person replies with a price in 3 hours on average on workdays.

Which format to send

Send the one you have. If you have a choice, send STEP.
| Format | What it holds | Units stored | Send it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| STEP, STP | The exact solid from CAD: true curves, true holes. STP is the same format with a short extension. | Yes | You have CAD. The right choice. |
| SLDPRT | A SolidWorks part. | Yes | You work in SolidWorks and do not want to export. |
| 3MF | A mesh, with units, and it can hold several parts in one file. | Yes | You export from a slicer or a mesh tool. |
| STL | A mesh of triangles. Curves become flat facets. | No | A model you downloaded, or the only export you have. |
| OBJ | A mesh, like STL. | No | The model came from a modelling or scanning tool. |
The practical difference: from a STEP file we measure the part you drew. From an STL we measure a triangle approximation of it, and the file does not say whether the numbers are mm or inches.
Before you send
- Check the unitsSTL and OBJ carry none. Use mm, and say so in the email. A part drawn in inches and read as mm comes out about 25 times too small.
- One part per fileFor an assembly, send each part as its own file, with a quantity for each. An assembly file is fine too; say which parts to print.
- Say which face mattersIf the part has a face that carries load or must be flat, say which. We choose the print orientation, and the layer direction matters for strength.
- Export curves smoothIn an STL, a coarse export shows facets on a round hole. Tighten the export setting until the circle looks round.
- Check the sizeThe largest part in one piece is 360 x 360 x 360 mm; for carbon-fibre and heated-chamber materials it is 340 x 320 x 340 mm. Bigger parts are printed in sections, designed to be joined.
What to put in the email
Six lines are enough to get a price in one reply.
- QuantityOne part is a real order.
- Material, or what it has to surviveHeat, sun, oil or fuel, load. If you do not know the material, say what the part does; a person picks.
- ColourOr "any".
- Needed byA date, or "no hurry".
- Where it shipsThe country. We post to the Baltics, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
- Sizes that matterOur tolerance is ±0.5%, minimum ±0.5 mm. Name any dimension that needs more.
Send it from the form on the quote page, or by email to the address on the contact page. The form and the email are treated the same way.
What happens to your file
A person opens it. They check that it prints, that the size is what you meant, and that the material fits the job. The price comes back with the material, the quantity and the date. Nothing is charged until you approve.
If the file will not open, or the shape is not a closed solid, the reply says what is wrong. If FDM is the wrong process for the part, the reply says that too: a tolerance below ±0.5 mm, a smooth moulded finish, a metal part, a resin part. We print FDM plastic only.
No file yet
Many parts are already shared as free models online. Download the STL or 3MF and send it for a quote; we print it as it is.
For a broken part with no model, send photos with a ruler and the key sizes in mm. We draw it, you approve the model, then we print.
Questions
STEP or STL for 3D printing?
STEP if you have CAD: exact geometry, units included. STL if it is all you have; give the units in the email.
Can you open SolidWorks files?
Yes: SLDPRT works. STEP, STP, STL, 3MF and OBJ also work.
What units should the file be in?
mm. Say so in the email. STL and OBJ do not store units, so we ask when the size looks off.
Is there a file size limit?
Up to 25 MB per file and ten files in the form. For anything larger, email the file or a download link.
Do I need an account?
No. Upload the file or email it; the price comes by email.
Does a person look at every file?
Yes. The same people check the file and answer the email.
